The department is fully-operational and fully-staffed with specialist and support staff 24-hours a day. Our dedicated team is supported by over 50 physicians and surgeons (specialists in orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiology, paediatrics, gynaecology etc) and state-of-the-art facilities which are constantly being upgraded in keeping with technological and equipment advances worldwide. Every day, a wide range of conditions arrive for treatment. No other specialty in medicine sees the variety of conditions that an emergency room physician encounters in one week. Some of those conditions include:

Orthopaedics & Traumas
FV Hospital has a team of trauma doctors and surgeons specialised in the treatment of injuries to the spine, hips, legs, arms, shoulders, hands and feet. This includes broken bones, tendon injuries and spinal trauma due to motorbike, car and domestic accidents, as well as sports injuries. We have two operating theatres dedicated to orthopaedic surgery, outfitted with the latest equipment for tendon repair, bone setting and spinal surgery.
SOS Hand
Over 30% of surgical emergency cases are related to hand injuries. FV Hospital’s hand surgery emergency assistance is modelled after the “SOS Main” service in France and is designed to provide 24-hour access to senior hand surgeons and specialist equipment, such as microscopes and surgical instruments for artery, nerve, and tendon repair, as well as re-implantation. This service covers minor traumas to the hand, such as, sprains and cuts, as well as serious injuries, such as broken arms and traumatic amputation.

Cardiology
For cardiac emergencies and specifically for heart attacks, quick action is vital. Our experienced team of emergency doctors and nurses, in our mobile ICU, can administer cardiac resuscitation and treatment on-site. We have a senior cardiologist on stand-by, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Maternity
In accordance with the French Ministry of Health Regulations, FV Hospital has on staff, on-site a permanent on site obstetrician available for emergency situations. For your convenience and ease of mind, we have a 24-hour emergency access line to reach our obstetricians at any time, during your pregnancy.

Paediatrics
Our Paediatricians are on-site and able to address emergencies and trauma in children, and to work closely with surgeons to monitor the treatment of any child brought to the A&E Department at FV Hospital. We are fully-equipped and trained to handle emergencies in newborns; we can organize transportation of premature or ill infants to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit via a specialized neonatal transport unit.
Ambulance
We are pleased to offer a new level of ambulance service, for the first time in Vietnam. FVH has 2 French-manufactured, international-standard mobile ICU vehicles, on 24-hour call, equipped with the latest generation technology for treating emergency patients on-site. These mobile intensive care units are staffed by a team of specially trained doctors and nurses, allowing for remote treatment and stabilization of the patient, prior to conveying them to FV Hospital for further care. Our ambulance service is modelled after the SMUR in France (“Service Mobile d’Urgence et de Reanimation” which means Mobile Unit for Emergencies and Intensive Care).
Evacuation Services
FV Hospital organizes medical evacuations of all kinds, including:

Ground evacuation by our ambulances from your home, or other hospitals, both within and outside of Ho Chi Minh City. The service also extends to all nearby provinces and cities In Vietnam; for examples: Thu Duc, Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, Can Tho, etc.

Air evacuation by private plane, commercial plane or helicopter from off-shore oil rigs, factories and industrial parks in the areas surrounding Ho Chi Minh City including all provinces/cities in Vietnam; for examples: Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, etc. We can also arrange the evacuation of patients from other nearby countries, such as Cambodia, Laos, etc.
- Medical evacuation overseas, if necessary.

Repatriation evacuation for expatriates who desire to return home for treatment or for convalescence.
Support Services
Should your condition require emergency surgery, we have a wide range of diagnostic, medical and surgical services available at the disposal of emergency patients 24 hours a day. These services are backed by an on-site blood bank; 24/24 imaging services including x-rays, ultrasounds and high-speed CT scans; a fully-equipped laboratory prepared to provide emergency cases’ biological tests results on-site; 24/24 operating theatres with on-call surgeons and anaesthesiologists; and, a 24-hour pharmacy. For patients in need of special care and observation, our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is outfitted with the highest quality monitoring and resuscitation equipment available. Each room is equipped with its own monitor, ventilator and infusion pump, and is closely observed by our ICU nursing team, 24 hours a day. Our Anaesthesiologists are on-call to provide ICU patients’ with their specialist medical care, if needed.
