Though it is a general hospital, FVH is also a complete surgical centre, where almost all types of surgical procedures can be performed. (In actual fact, FVH offers over 1600 different surgical packages.) All the surgical disciplines (except cardiac) are represented: general, thoracic and vascular surgery, orthopaedic and hand surgery, urology, gynaecology, plastic surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, maxillo-facial and oral surgery, and recently, neurosurgery, as well.

The Surgical Team

In keeping with our goal of providing international quality healthcare, FV Hospital is staffed by a full-time team of French and overseas-trained Vietnamese specialists, each with 10-15 years experience working in key positions in local and international hospitals. Together, they provide expertise in 30 medical and surgical specialities. All of our surgeons are highly skilled in the latest surgical and anaesthetic techniques, ensuring that your treatment is as efficient and effective as possible.

Our full-time team is complemented by over 200 surgeons from France, Belgium and Switzerland. Many of these specialists (who are also shareholders in our hospital) come to practice at FVH, usually once a year, for a couple of weeks. Also, radiology images and test results can be transmitted on-line and discussed in real-time with these doctors, as well as our partner laboratories in France. Whilst continuity of medical care is ensured by our full-time medical staff, these visiting doctors therefore constitute a vast resource of specialized experience which may be used to our patients’ advantage, year-round.

Finally, FVH has, through the FVH Partners Programme, attracted the most famous Vietnamese specialists who routinely choose to operate on their patients in the modern FVH Operating Theatre.

The Nursing Team

Nursing and post-operative care are a vital part of the recovery process after surgery. FVH has over 150 Vietnamese nurses, who have been trained in modern patient care techniques by our experienced French head nurses. We have organised our nursing staff around the standard of one nurse per 8 patients in the wards, except in key areas requiring closer supervision, for example ICU. This balance of care ensures the correct attention is given during the recovery process. Our nurse will provide for all your needs while in hospital.

Operating Theatre

The FVH Operating Theatre is composed of 9 Operating Rooms. Medical technology provided is state-of-the-art: operating microscopes, C-arms, surgical instruments, anaesthesia machines, ventilators, monitoring system, imaging equipment are all brand new and carefully serviced by the FVH Biomedical engineers and FVH suppliers.

A further benefit of choosing FVH for your surgery is the reassurance that we implement international standard procedures for sterilisation and infection control, using Getinge autoclaves and sterilisers. Many surgical materials are designed for single use, which dramatically reduces the possibility of infection and ensures that our patients do not experience any unnecessary complications that could hinder their quick recovery.
