  Admission to FV Hospital

Going to hospital can be a rather daunting prospect for some. It needn’t be. In keeping with our goal of providing superior quality medical care, we also wish to make your stay with us as stress-free and comfortable as possible. Here are a few tips on what to expect and what to do to make your stay that much easier.

Pre-admission

To completely familiarize yourself with hospital procedures, prior to the day of your admission, we invite you to meet with the FVH Admission Officer who will explain all you need to know agree with you on a fixed date for your hospitalization, explain the financial issues and will give you a free copy of our detailed brochure “Your Stay at FVH – An Introductory Guide”. The brochure explains in simple language the different types of rooms (semi-private, private, VIP and Suite), what you should bring, what you shouldn’t bring (valuables), practical details of where to go and who to see. Everything you can think of.

At the Time of Your Admission

The admission process itself is quite simple. Upon arrival, go straight to the Main Reception Desk in the lobby to check-in. (please remember to bring your appointment card with you) From there you will be escorted to the Main Cashier to complete the deposit process. All the relevant details of your hospitalization will be on file (having been forwarded from the pre-admission meeting). An attendant will then accompany you to the ward and introduce you to your nurse. Your nurse will then take you to your assigned room and help you to settle in.

If you wish to change your room choice during your stay, please inform the Medical Secretary of the ward, who will look to your request. Rooms are subject to availability.

Some patients may require isolation in a single room for medical reasons, if so, this will incur an additional charge which will be explained to you at the time.
