FVH holds conferences on bone and joint problems at FVH Phnom Penh

To enhance the sharing of expertise between medical professionals and to improve public awareness of bone and joint conditions, FVH Representative Office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, will hold a two-day series of events at Sunway Phnom Penh Hotel.

These events include a Symposium named “The orthopaedic update on joint replacements”, targeting clinical staff, to be held on 26th August 2017, and the Public Seminar “Orthopaedic update on the Principles of Fractures Management”, scheduled on 27th August 2017, targeting Cambodian people.

At the Symposium, Dr Le Trong Phat, Head of Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery, will present on “Joint Replacements and Surgery”. Dr Truong Hoang Vinh Khiem from Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery will be the public seminar speaker and present on the topic “Principles of Fractures Management”.

According to Mr Muoyly Bunnarith, the Chief at FVH Representative Office in Phnom Penh, joint problems now are the biggest concern for Cambodian people aged 45 or older. Most of those with joint complaints suffer from hip and knee problems, mainly associated with arthritis or injuries.

Cambodian healthcare facilities are now becoming capable of providing hip replacements. In cases where a knee replacement is required and local facilities lack the equipment or expertise to perform it, patients often consider treatment abroad. FV Hospital is one of their best choices.
