On the afternoon of 23 May 2026, at the Café De Paris at FV Hospital, the “Afternoon Tea with the Doctor” took place as a warm and relaxing gathering for more than 50 expectant mothers and families, who enjoyed tea while listening to helpful discussions about pregnancy and preparing to welcome their babies into the world.

With the theme “Safe Pregnancy & Breastfeeding”, the programme focused on very familiar concerns: which changes during pregnancy are considered normal, when medical check-ups are necessary, and how to begin the breastfeeding journey in a gentler and less overwhelming way.

During his presentation, Võ Triệu Đạt, MD, MSc, Head of the FV Thomson Maternity Department at FV Hospital, had many mothers attentively taking notes as he explained the signs and symptoms to monitor during pregnancy in a practical, relatable, and easy-to-understand manner.

In the following session, Doctor Nguyễn Thị Bảy, Specialist Level I, from the Paediatrics & Neonatology Department at FV Hospital offered a gentle perspective on the breastfeeding journey, from babies struggling with proper latching to how postnatal stress can affect milk supply. These practical insights helped many young families feel understood and far more reassured.

What made the afternoon tea especially meaningful was not the amount of information shared, but the comfortable atmosphere where mothers felt free to ask even the smallest questions that had long been on their minds. One mother asked about persistent back pain throughout her second trimester, while a young father quietly noted down tips on caring for a newborn from the very first days. There was no sense of distance between doctors and attendees; every conversation unfolded naturally, like a friendly gathering among family and friends.

Alongside the medical discussions, the tour of the FV Thomson Maternity also left a strong impression, with its modern, private, and thoughtfully designed maternity facilities helping many young families better picture a safe, comfortable birth experience with comprehensive care at FV.

The afternoon concluded with many mothers staying behind to chat with the doctors, take commemorative photographs, or simply enjoy the reassuring feeling that came from an afternoon of listening and sharing.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing that “Afternoon Tea with the Doctor” offers is not only knowledge about pregnancy and breastfeeding, but also the peace of mind that comes from knowing there is always a dedicated medical team ready to support mothers throughout their journey into motherhood.

We look forward to welcoming families again for “Afternoon Tea with the Doctor” on June, featuring the topic:
