Associate professor, dr mahen nadarajah – the world’s leading expert on stroke and cerebrovascular disease treatment will work at fv from 28/03 – 01/04/2022.

After a long period of temporary absence due to the COVID-19 epidemic, from March 28 to April 1, 2022, Assoc. Professor, Dr Mahen Nadarajah will work at the Department of Neurosurgery – FV Hospital to help screen and treat patients at risk of stroke, cerebrovascular diseases such as vascular malformations, brain aneurysms and spinal diseases by endovascular intervention, which is minimally invasive and safe.

Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability among all diseases. According to statistics, there are about 15 million strokes in the world every year, of which 200,000 are in Vietnam. On average, every 45 seconds, there is a person experience a stroke, and every 3 minutes, there is a patient dead because of the disease. The death rate from stroke in Vietnam is higher than in the world. Statistics show that every day, Ho Chi Minh City has about 300 stroke patients, the number of young people with the disease increases rapidly.

Cooperating in this comeback with FV, Dr Mahen Nadarajah will work with neurosurgeons to examine and treat patients with diseases of:

  • Stroke
  • Brain aneurysm
  • Spinal pain (treatment with less invasive surgery)
  • Carotid artery disease

With experience working in many countries, Dr Mahen Nadarajah is well-known for providing suitable treatment for a wide range of patients. In particular, he can perform endovascular interventions at FV’s modern Cathlab to treat cerebrovascular diseases safely, less invasively and effectively.

Graduated from St Andrew University and King’s University (United Kingdom), Dr Mahen Nadarajah has been well known in the field of diagnosis and surgery to treat neurological and vascular diseases, with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice in the UK, Australia and Singapore. He is one of the world’s leading experts in the treatment of stroke and cerebrovascular diseases.

Dr Mahen Nadarajah has also achieved many prestigious awards. He is currently a senior consultant at Singapore National University Hospital and a member of the Royal Society of Physicians as well as several other clinical and academic councils.
