FV keeps organising the hospital’s birth preparation programme to provide you with essential information and the best experience possible.

The course includes 5 sessions covering different periods of pregnancy and mothering skills. Among those who will help you during the course are our anaesthetists, nutrition specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, midwives and nurses.

BIRTH PREPARATION COORDINATOR

The coordinator is Ms. Melissa Gelez, who will help plan, organise and conduct the programme to educate and assist pregnant women on essential issues such as: physiology of pregnancy, physiology of childbirth, effective ways to prepare for labour and delivery, diet and exercise, postnatal care, breastfeeding and newborn care.

Ms. Melissa Gelez obtained her Master’s Degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2013, followed by a National Midwife Diploma in 2014 at Lille 2 University of Health and Law, France. Shen then started serving as Midwife at Maternity Jeanne de Flandre, Lille (France). In November 2014, she transferred to JJB Montessori Center, a pregnancy support centre in Guangzhou, China. Over there, she took the role of Team Manager to provide many successful prenatal counselling activities.

Ms. Melissa Gelez joined FV Hospital as Birth Preparation Coordinator at Maternity and Delivery Ward in October 2016.
