SPEAKER PROFILES
1. Assoc Prof Le Thuong Vu, MD, PhD – Head of Pulmonology Department, University Medical Centre Ho Chi Minh City
- Experience: Over 29 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and intensive research in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology; formerly a fellow in Respiratory Medicine at Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI), France.
- Clinical Expertise: A leading expert in respiratory medicine, lung cancer, and pulmonary diseases; a pioneer in research for pulmonary embolism diagnosis and the application of advanced techniques such as silicone stenting for tracheobronchial stenosis in Vietnam.
2. Dr Basma M’Barek – Head of Hy Vong Cancer Centre, FV Hospital.
- Experience: Over 20 years of experience in oncology and radiotherapy across France and Vietnam; formerly practiced at leading French cancer centres, including Gustave Roussy, Saint Louis, and Le Raincy Montfermeil.
- Clinical Expertise: A consultant radiation oncologist with extensive experience in implementing advanced techniques such as VMAT, SBRT, TBI, and Brachytherapy, as well as targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Expert in developing standardised treatment protocols aligned with international benchmarks and delivering personalised care for cancer patients.
3. Dr Vo Kim Dien, MSc – Deputy Head of Hy Vong Cancer Centre, FV Hospital.
- Experience: Over 35 years of experience in Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy.
- Clinical Expertise: A highly seasoned expert in radiotherapy, with a particular focus on breast cancer, gynaecological cancers, and head and neck cancers.
4. Dr Dang Dinh Minh Thanh, PhD, Specialist Level II – Head of Thoracic Surgery Department; Head of FV da Vinci Robotic Surgery Centre.
- Experience: Over 22 years of experience in Thoracic Surgery.
- Clinical Expertise: One of the first surgeons in Vietnam to perform robotic thoracic surgery. He possesses extensive experience in treating lung cancer, mediastinal tumours, oesophageal and tracheal diseases, and chest wall deformities.
5. Dr Vo Thi Phuong Thao, MSc – Senior Consultant, Hy Vong Cancer Centre, FV Hospital.
- Experience: An outstanding young expert in Oncology receives the prestigious ESMO Fellowship for training at The Christie (UK) – one of Europe’s leading cancer centres.
- Clinical Expertise: Specialist in medical oncology and immunotherapy.
