“FV Babies Day”: Two Decades of FV Thomson Maternity, Partnering with over 10,000 Vietnamese Families

The event, held on 13 December, marked a major milestone with the birth of more than 10,000 babies at FV Hospital and the official unveiling of the new identity of FV Thomson Maternity. Beyond a significant chapter in FV’s development, the occasion also reflects a transformation as FV enters a comprehensive partnership with Thomson Medical Group, one of Asia’s leading mother-and-child healthcare networks. This collaboration signals a new phase in maternity care, focused on safe, holistic and more emotionally considered childbirth experiences for families welcoming their newborns.

Two Decades, Over 10,000 FV Babies, and a Journey Built on Trust

“FV Babies Day” celebrates 22 years of the FV Hospital Maternity Department accompanying tens of thousands of families through high-quality maternity and childbirth services for both Vietnamese and international patients. On this special occasion, nearly 400 babies born at FV returned with their parents for a joyful reunion, sharing meaningful moments with the doctors, midwives, and care teams who supported mothers and newborns during their first moments of life.

At the opening of the event, Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon, Chief Executive Officer of FV Hospital, shared his reflections on the strong emotional connection families have with FV Babies Day. Hundreds of photographs of the “little angels”, contributed by parents, were brought together to create the “Legacy Path”, a visual symbol of the trust placed in FV’s safe, compassionate, and holistic maternity services.

In addition, more than 11,300 colourful hearts, each bearing the name and year of birth of an FV baby, were brought together to form a “giant heart”, symbolising the love, dedicated care, and enduring partnership that FV has shared with families for over two decades.

Among the guests was supermodel Tuyet Lan, who welcomed her first child at FV in late August 2025. She shared her heartfelt appreciation, saying: “When I decided to choose FV, I truly found a place where I could openly talk and felt that everyone genuinely cared for me. This made my pregnancy and childbirth journey gentle, reassuring, and sweet. If I were to give birth again, FV would certainly remain my choice.”

Ms Dao Thi Ngoc Bich, who has given birth to three children at FV, spoke highly of the hospital’s maternity services, particularly their focus on safety and comfort, noting that she was able to get out of bed and move around the very next day. “I chose to deliver my second child at FV Maternity at a time when the hospital had only just begun operations in Vietnam. Looking back, it may have been a bold decision, but the sense of reassurance and medical expertise FV provided led me to continue placing my trust in the hospital for the births of my next two children,” Ms Ngoc Bich shared. Truong Nguyen Nhat, 20 years old, an ‘FV Baby’, travelled home two days earlier than planned from London to attend FV Babies Day, expressing both excitement and pride. “When I heard about the event, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. I knew I had to be here to thank my parents and express my appreciation to FV, the place that brought me into this wonderful world,” Nguyen Nhat shared.

FV Thomson Maternity: Elevating the International Maternity Experience

The milestone of welcoming 10,000 “FV Babies” also marked the official announcement of the renaming of the FV Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department to “FV Thomson Maternity”, reflecting a deep and strategic partnership with Thomson Medical Group — one of Asia’s leading mother-and-child healthcare networks, which supports the birth of approximately 20% of all newborns in Singapore each year.

Sharing at the event, Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon stated: “We have sent our teams to Thomson Singapore to learn from their operating model, modern childbirth methods, and maternity care pathways before, during and after delivery, as well as supporting services. Our objective is to elevate FV Thomson Maternity to a new level — a comprehensive, modern and internationally accredited maternity model that places strong emphasis not only on safety, but also on mental wellbeing and the overall experience of every family.”

He further added: “We refer to this transformation as the ‘Thomson Touch’, encompassing a new visual identity, staff uniforms and care protocols. All are aligned with Thomson standards, while proudly building upon FV’s 22-year legacy. I would also like to emphasise FV’s commitment to full cost transparency, with no surcharges and no hidden fees. The entire childbirth journey is clearly explained and planned from the outset, enabling families to feel informed, confident, and reassured.”
