SPEAKER PROFILES

Assoc. Prof. Vu Dinh Thang, MD, PhD – Senior Consultant, 115 People’s Hospital (Chairman)
Dr Vu Dinh Thang graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Vietnam Military Medical University in 1987. He completed a Master’s programme in Resuscitation and Intensive Care at Hanoi Medical University in 2003, and successfully defended his PhD thesis in the same field at the 108 Institute for Clinical Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2016.
With more than 35 years’ experience in intensive care and toxicology, Dr Vu Dinh Thang is a Senior Advisor at Nhan Dan 115 Hospital and Gia An 115 Hospital. He also serves as Head of the Department of Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine at the Gia An Research and Training Institute, and a Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
Dr Vu Dinh Thang has authored and co-authored numerous scientific research papers on acute poisoning, haemodialysis, acute kidney injury, and ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria. He has also contributed to the development of training materials for the next generation of doctors. With a solid professional track record and extensive experience, Dr Vu Dinh Thang is recognised as one of Vietnam’s leading experts in critical care and resuscitation.

Vu Truong Son, MD, MSc – Medical Director, FV Hospital (Organiser’s Representative)
Vu Truong Son, MD, MSc graduated from Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2007 and taught there for two years following his graduation. He earned his Master’s degree in Tropical Diseases and International Health at the Institute of Francophone Tropical Medicine (IFMT) in 2009.
Dr Vu Truong Son began working at FV Hospital in 2013 and officially became the Head of the Infectious Disease Department in 2022. In May 2023, Dr Vu Truong Son additionally took on the role of Deputy Medical Director. Starting from early August 2024, he has been entrusted by the FV Hospital Board of Directors with the position of Acting Medical Director and he officially assumed the position of Medical Director in February 2025.
At FV, Dr Vu Truong Son has always received high trust from the Board of Directors and colleagues for his contributions to important policies such as the Response to Global Infectious Diseases and Infection Control, which have been successfully developed and implemented in the hospital. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Son made significant contributions to the Infection Control Unit and Infectious Disease Department at FV.

Ly Quoc Thinh, MD, MSc, Specialist Level II – Head of Department, Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Control, FV Hospital (Moderator)
Dr Ly Quoc Thinh is currently Head of Department, Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Control, FV Hospital.
Dr Ly Quoc Thinh graduated in Medicine from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 1996, completed his MSc in Anaesthesiology in 2007, and Specialist Level II degree in 2022. He undertook further training at University of Paris V and Robert Debré Hospital (2001), University of Paris VII and Saint Antoine Hospital (2011).
With more than 25 years of experience in anaesthesiology, paediatric anaesthesia, pain control, and intensive care, he has made significant contributions to both clinical practice and training. Before joining FV in 2007, he worked at Children’s Hospital 1, Ho Chi Minh City, where he gained extensive experience in complex paediatric cases.

Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, MD, MSc – Senior Consultant, Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care & Pain Control Department, FV Hospital (Speaker)
Dr Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, former Head of the Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care & Pain Control Department at FV Hospital, has over 30 years of experience in the field.
She graduated in Medicine from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1988, completed specialist training in Anaesthesiology at Hanoi Medical University in 1991, and earned her MSc in Anaesthesiology from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2003. She finished her residency at Pellegrin Hospital in Bordeaux (1997-1998) and undertook advanced training in Paris in 2007, as well as specialized antibiotic training with French experts.
Her expertise includes ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and haemodialysis. Before joining FV, she served as Deputy Head at 115 People’s Hospital and was closely involved in training many junior doctors.

Vo Anh Khoa, MD, MSc, Specialist Level II – Deputy Head of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Control, FV Hospital (Speaker)
Dr Vo Anh Khoa is Deputy Head of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Control at FV Hospital, and is one of the key physicians in intensive care.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2002, earned his MSc in 2009, and completed his Specialist Level II degree in Anaesthesiology at Vietnam Military Medical University in 2020. In 2006, he trained in Emergency & Intensive Care at the University of Nantes, France.
With more than 20 years of experience, including prior work at 115 People’s Hospital before joining FV in 2014, Dr Khoa’s expertise includes mechanical ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

Cao Hoai Tuan Anh, MD, MSc, Specialist Level II – Head of Intensive Care & Toxicology, Deputy Director, 115 People’s Hospital (Speaker)
Dr Cao Hoai Tuan Anh graduated in Medicine in 2001 and completed his MSc in Internal Medicine in 2006 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City. He undertook Specialist Level II degree at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2019.
With more than 20 years of experience in intensive care, he specialises in the management of critically ill patients, septic shock, and sepsis. Dr Tuan Anh has authored and co-authored several research publications, including monographs on continuous renal replacement therapy, published in 2014, 2018, and 2022.
