SPEAKERS’ PROFILE:
1. Prof. Do Doan Loi, MD, PhD – President of The Vietnam Heart Failure Association
- Experience: Over 44 years of distinguished service in clinical practice and medical education.
- Clinical Expertise: A leading authority in internal cardiology and echocardiography, and a pioneer in advancing modern heart failure treatment standards in Vietnam.
2. Assoc. Prof. Pham Nguyen Vinh, MD, PhD – Vice President of The Vietnam Heart Association
- Experience: More than 55 years of clinical practice; widely regarded by the medical community as one of the most respected figures in Vietnamese cardiology.
- Clinical Expertise: Renowned for expertise in colour Doppler ultrasound diagnosis, the management of complex valvular heart diseases, and myocarditis, as well as the training of successive generations of cardiologists.
3. Dr Andrew Choong, MBBS, PhD, FRCS, FEBVS (Hons) – Senior Consultant, Vascular, Endovascular and Aortic Surgery National University Heart Centre (NUH), Singapore
- Experience: More than 23 years of fellowship training and clinical practice at leading medical centres in the United Kingdom and Singapore.
- Clinical Expertise: Advanced techniques in carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and complex endovascular aortic interventions.
4. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, MD, PhD – Director of The Vietnam National Heart Institute, Bach Mai Hospital
- Experience: More than 31 years of expertise in internal cardiology.
- Clinical Expertise: A leading specialist in advanced cardiac imaging, including speckle tracking, and imaging assessment for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
5. Dr Nguyen Quang Bay, MD, PhD – Head of Endocrinology and Diabetes, Bach Mai Hospital
- Experience: Over 31 years of experience in endocrinology and metabolism.
- Clinical Expertise: Multi-disciplinary cardio-renal-metabolic management and the application of advanced technologies, including CGM and insulin pumps, to optimise treatment for cardiovascular patients with underlying diabetes.
6. Dr Ho Minh Tuan, MD, PhD – Head of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, FV Hospital
Dr Ho Minh Tuan holds a PhD in Internal Cardiology and has more than 25 years of experience in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease.
He specialises in complex interventional techniques such as TAVI, PCI, peripheral vascular interventions, and procedures for structural heart disease. He also has extensive expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging, including coronary CT and transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
Dr Ho Minh Tuan previously served as the Head of the Interventional Cardiology Team and Head of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at a major specialised cardiovascular hospital. He regularly participates in international scientific conferences as a chair and speaker, contributing actively to regional cardiovascular academic forums.
7. Dr Tran Dai Quynh Van, MD, MSc – Senior Consultant, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, FV Hospital
With over two decades of experience in comprehensive cardiovascular care, Dr Quynh Van has extensive expertise in the analysis and assessment of structural heart disease using advanced diagnostic imaging.
She specialises in the application of 3mensio software for cardiovascular image analysis, supporting precise interventional planning for structural heart interventions. Her areas of clinical expertise include arrhythmias, carotid artery disease, and venous insufficiency. She also has extensive experience in echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI, and advanced vascular ultrasound.
8. Dr Do Huu Phuc, MD, Specialist Level I – Senior Consultant, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, FV Hospital
Dr Do Huu Phuc has many years of experience in interventional cardiology and cardiac intensive care. He previously held a key role in the Interventional Cardiology Unit and served as the Acting Head of the Emergency Department at a major specialised cardiovascular hospital.
His expertise includes coronary artery intervention, structural heart procedures, echocardiography, and the management of high-risk cardiovascular patients. Combining extensive clinical experience with advanced training in arrhythmia management and advanced cardiac life support, Dr Phuc is highly experienced in managing complex clinical cases.
9. Dr Randal Low Jun Bang – Consultant of Interventional Cardiology, Woodlands Health, Singapore
- Experience: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) in 2009
- Clinical Expertise: Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation, including complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions.
