On the afternoon of 22nd April 2025, FV Hospital hosted a heartfelt appreciation event to celebrate Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. This year’s theme, “Mystery Machine of Diagnostics: Another Case Solved by The Lab”, cast a symbolic spotlight on our lab professionals, recognising them as “medical detectives” who work tirelessly around the clock to unravel countless health puzzles and support patient care.
The cosy gathering at FV Bistro welcomed members of the Board of Directors, doctors, partners, and over 40 members from the Laboratory and Blood Bank Department. In his opening remarks, Dr Vu Truong Son, Medical Director, emphasised: “Without a laboratory, we doctors would find it difficult to work effectively. You are the foundation that enables timely diagnosis and treatment. I am deeply grateful for your relentless work ethic and continuous efforts to improve.”
Dr Vu Truong Son expressed his appreciation to the laboratory team for their rapid testing capabilities, which play a crucial role in ensuring timely diagnosis and effective treatment for patients.
From a legal perspective, Ms Mai Thi Phuong Anh, Legal Director, cheerfully shared: “The fact that we’ve received no ‘calls’ from the lab over the years is indeed a good sign – it means you’re doing an outstanding job, quietly yet highly effectively.” She also extended sincere thanks on behalf of the Board of Directors for the Laboratory and Blood Bank Department’s consistent, high-quality contributions to FV’s overall operations.
Ms Phuong Anh acknowledged that the laboratory professionals are doing an excellent job in their roles.
The event also provided an opportunity to recognise the team’s unwavering efforts during what has been a particularly demanding year for the healthcare sector. Mr Friend Maviza, Head of Laboratory and Blood Bank, shared with a touch of humour that his team often comes and goes quietly, seldom interacting with doctors, patients, or other staff – despite playing a vital role in patient care. “That’s why I’m so proud to work alongside you – people who rarely complain, adapt quickly, and always put their hearts into what they do. Today’s recognition belongs to you – our unsung heroes,” he expressed.
Mr Friend Maviza expressed his pride in working alongside FV’s professional laboratory team.
In addition to past achievements, 2025 has marked several key milestones for the Laboratory and Blood Bank Department: maintaining the ISO 15189 accreditation, successfully completing an internal quality audit, contributing to FV’s fourth JCI re-accreditation, and launching new testing services to enhance patient care.
