I visited you on April 28 with my 15year old son due to stomach issues/ food poisoning. When you decided to make an Echo, you discovered a very large abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Of course that brought a lot of stress and made our trip back to Holland very scary.

But because you have discovered it, I was able to take action this last Friday they repaired the aneurysm and now I am recovering. I am very grateful that you have made me aware of this issue. I was referred here by another hospital because they said I needed more extensive treatment for my heart. When I arrived I was nervous and afraid as I did not know what was happening. The doctors – Dr. Duc, Dr. Tuan and Dr. Phuc of Cardiology – greeted me kindly and explained that I needed TAVR procedure. I had the procedure and feel so much better. I had daily contact with the doctors and they carefully explained the entire procedure and aftercare to me and my wife.

This was my first time learning about FV Hospital, and I decided to come immediately. Upon arriving for a consultation, I met Dr. Huynh Anh Quoc, who specializes in gastroenterology. I was in a critical condition, suffering from a ruptured blood vessel at the end of my stomach, duodenum, and small intestine. The doctor carefully monitored my condition and treated me with great dedication. Now that I have fully recovered, I am writing this letter to express my gratitude.

I have used surgery facilities twice and was satisfied with end results. I personally have used local hospitals many times but on occasion prefer the FV. the Dr I talked to was very good and spoke English well. I had my wife with me as I expected her to interpret for me but was not necessary. Dr Nguyen was very professional and helpful to my problem. Her front staff were also pleasant and helpful. I found the doctor to be very attentive in examining my child, and the nurses were very nice. My child said he loved his parents and the doctors, and he felt that way himself, he felt the nurses cared.

The insurance did not cover 100%, so I had to pay an additional 10 million, but the hospital reviewed it and refunded me a portion, I was satisfied. When I got home, the doctor called to ask about my child’s condition.

N.V.T - Hy Vong Cancer Centre

In 2012, my father was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer at a hospital and at that time, the leading specialist and the attending doctor in a consultative meeting said that my father could only have an additional 6 months of life after starting treatment (radiation + chemotherapy). I was deeply confused because the doctor did not explain things in detail (I do not blame the doctor because the number of patients was overwhelming, and they were working too many hours, so they could not spend more than 5 minutes with each patient).

My father’s cousin, who has been a nurse for years at FV Hospital, registered for my father to see Dr. Võ Kim Điền. I vividly remember that the consultation fee at FV was 800,000 VND (while at other hospitals it was around 100,000 VND). However, Dr. Điền took great care in examining my father and explained the condition to both of us in detail for nearly two hours. He explained clearly about nasopharyngeal cancer, the treatment chart, which cells would be affected, leading to necrosis at certain areas, and the quality of life after treatment.

At that time, I was 32 years old, specializing in production engineering, but after that two-hour consultation, with the 800,000 VND fee, I felt that I understood nasopharyngeal cancer as if I had read and studied a thesis on the subject by a medical student (a student who had to spend 5 years and over a billion VND to do so).

After the cancer treatment in 2012, my father became as healthy as someone who had never been ill. In 2021, my father had to undergo another life-threatening treatment — COVID-19 (at that time, my father had many chronic illnesses, but his cancer had not recurred after the 2012 treatment).

My father’s underlying conditions when he contracted COVID-19. Once again, FV Hospital helped my father overcome COVID-19.

Though many years have passed, I am deeply grateful and would like to send my thanks to Dr. Võ Kim Điền, Dr. Đại (I remember Dr. Điền instructed the secretary very carefully that Dr. Đại needed to directly perform the nasal endoscopy for my father), the secretary of the Hy Vong Care Cancer Centre and the nurses, especially Nurse Mỹ, for their care. Thank you very much.

I thank all the medical teams who took care of my father and helped him survive COVID-19.
Today, my father is still able to feed himself three meals a day with his own hands and mouth. 12 years is a very long time compared to the 6-month prognosis.
