256-slice CT Scanner helps screen Coronary artery disease early

Myocardial infarction is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases, posing a high risk of death. In Vietnam, the number of people suffering from this disease is increasing and rejuvenating due to the current pressing eating habits and living standards. This is a dangerous disease, but can still be cured and well controlled if detected early through screening.
The most effective and safest method, of coronary artery disease screening, is to perform contrast-enhanced CT scans to identify abnormal signs in blood vessels. At the end of 2018, FV Hospital invested in the latest 256-slicde CT scanner to shorten the scanning time to half compared to conventional machines. This , which becomesis very useful in cases of patients with severe diseases needing immediate scanning. Furthermore, In particular, the machine also reducesd up to 50% of harmful X-rays on patients compared to conventional CTs, while giving a clearer picture to help doctors give early and accurate results possible.

In addition, the 256 CT Scanner has a 3D camera integrated with advanced processing software, supporting which supports the capturing of imaging imagescapture, the determination of the patient’s location and height, as well as gives better assessment of injuries such as tumours and different types of stones.

For patients with cancer screening, especially lung cancer, the machine can detect lesions below 5mm, even 3mm., Wwhereas a regular X-ray can only show the smallest diameter lesions which are 5mm. In addition to screening for cardiovascular, cancer and neurological diseases, this technology is also useful for in-depth study of musculoskeletal conditions, especially gout.

To facilitate the examination of cardiovascular diseases, FV has introduced the Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Screening priced at 7,400,000 VND, which includes:

  • Examination with experienced cardiologists
  • Electrocardiography
  • Echocardiography
  • Coronary CT scan and assessment of calcification level (*)
