In response to World Environment Day on 5 June 2026, themed “A Global Call for Climate Action”, FV Hospital hosted an Environment Day featuring a variety of meaningful activities.
A green spirit across FV
From the early morning, FV Hospital was filled with green. Many staff members enthusiastically wore green outfits or accessories, creating a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere.

Opening the event, Ms Pham Thi Thanh Mai, Chief Operating Officer of FV Hospital, highlighted that environmental challenges and climate change are no longer distant concerns but issues that affect our daily life and future generations.

“The call for global climate action is now widely recognised around the world. What matters most, however, is turning awareness into action. Each of us can contribute to protecting the environment through small changes in our daily lives and workplace habits,” said Ms Thanh Mai.
During the interactive session, many FV members shared practical actions they are taking to help reduce their environmental impact.
Ms Nguyen Thi Hue, OPD Secretary, shared that she has started changing her commuting habits by walking more. She said: “Over the past week, I have walked from home to the hospital and back twice, which takes about 45 minutes each way.” For her, this is not only a way to reduce carbon emissions but also helps improve physical health.

One of the most memorable moments came from a little girl named Minh Chau, the daughter of Ms Minh Hoang from the Human Resources Department. “My mum always brings a glass water bottle to work instead of using disposable cups,” she shared. Her simple observation highlighted how everyday habits can inspire environmental awareness in the next generation.

Environmental awareness corner and interactive activities
At the environmental sharing corner, staff were provided with useful information regarding the environmental impact of healthcare operations. Information displayed during the event highlighted that hospitals may consume up to 2.5 times more electricity and water than commercial buildings of a similar size.
The event also promoted the 3Rs principle: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, encouraging staff to adopt simple yet effective habits that can help reduce environmental impact in everyday life.

The event continued with a lively environmental quiz and a series of interactive games. Participants enthusiastically tested their knowledge, while eco-friendly prizes added to the fun and excitement throughout the session.

Soap-making workshop becomes a crowd favourite
One of the most popular activities of the day was the organic soap-making workshop, which attracted enthusiastic participation from FV staff. Many were delighted to mix ingredients, choose colours, and create their own unique soap bars for the first time. At the end of the workshop, participants proudly took home their handmade creations as a memorable keepsake from this year’s Environment Day celebration.

While FV Hospital’s World Environment Day 2026 activities have come to an end, the message of environmental responsibility continues to inspire action across the organisation. In the spirit of “Now for Climate”, protecting the environment goes beyond a single day of activities but is reflected in the everyday choices and actions of more than 1,600 FV staff members.
