Gastroscopy (Upper GI Endoscopy)

Gastroscopy, also known as upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, is a procedure used to examine the inside of the upper digestive tract using a flexible endoscope fitted with a small camera. After the procedure, you will be transferred to the recovery room before returning to the Day Ward for observation and rest over the next few hours, until the sedative has completely worn off.
Once fully recovered, your doctor will assess your condition before you are discharged home.
