Dr Phan Van Thai, MSc, Specialist Level II

Speaker Information

Dr Phan Van Thai, MSc, Specialist Level II is the Head of General Surgery Department at FV Hospital, with almost 30 years of surgical experience. Dr Thai specialises in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for hepatopancreatobiliary, gastric, colorectal, hernia and bariatric conditions. He has completed advanced training programmes in France, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia.

Dr Doan Ngoc Giao, PhD

Dr Doan Ngoc Giao, PhD is the Head of the FV da Vinci Robotic Surgery Centre at FV Hospital. Dr Giao has nearly 30 years of experience in gastrointestinal, hepatopancreatobiliary, oncological and bariatric surgery. Having completed extensive training in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, he is highly proficient in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopy and robot-assisted surgery.

Dr Bui Le Phuoc Thu Thao, Specialist Level II

Speaker Information

Dr Bui Le Phuoc Thu Thao, Specialist Level II is the Head of Hy Vong Cancer Centre at FV Hospital. With nearly 20 years of experience in radiation oncology, Dr Thao is proficient in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including IMRT, VMAT, SRS/SBRT and DIBH, for complex cancers such as head and neck, breast and lung cancers, as well as brain metastases. She has received advanced radiotherapy training in South Korea and Singapore, as well as through programmes organised by the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO).

Dr Ngo Viet Thang, MSc, Specialist Level II

Dr Ngo Viet Thang, MSc, Specialist Level II is a Senior Consultant, General Surgery Department at FV Hospital. With over 16 years of surgical experience, he specialises in gastrointestinal laparoscopy and laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair. He has completed advanced training in gastrointestinal laparoscopy and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery at major hospitals in Vietnam.

Dr James Ngu Chi Yong

Dr James Ngu Chi Yong is a Senior Surgeon at Changi General Hospital, Singapore, with a subspecialty focus on robotic and minimally invasive colorectal surgery. He is an experienced robotic surgery proctor and serves as a host surgeon for Intuitive advanced robotic surgery courses, sharing his expertise in complex colorectal procedures and robotic surgical techniques. Dr James is also a founding board member of the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore and an active faculty member for advanced minimally invasive surgery workshops across Asia.
