FV Hospital cordially invite colleagues to the CME: “MULTISYSTEM OBESITY MANAGEMENT – A COMPREHENSIVE MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH”

The symposium will provide an opportunity for clinicians to update their knowledge of the latest advances in obesity management, ranging from medical treatment and personalised nutrition to surgical and robot-assisted approaches. It will also encourage multidisciplinary discussion and the exchange of clinical perspectives on the management of patients with complex obesity.

Dr Ho Minh Tuan, PhD

Speaker Information

Dr Ho Minh Tuan, PhD has more than 25 years of experience in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. He specialises in complex interventional procedures, including TAVI, PCI, peripheral vascular interventions and procedures for structural heart disease. He also has extensive expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging, including coronary CT angiography and transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

Dr Doan Ngoc Giao, PhD

Speaker Information

Dr Doan Ngoc Giao, PhD is a specialist in gastrointestinal surgery and minimally invasive surgery in Vietnam, with nearly 30 years of clinical experience. After receiving training and gaining expertise at leading surgical centres, including Viet Duc Hospital and Cho Ray Hospital, as well as through advanced training programmes in Japan, South Korea, the United States and Europe, Dr Giao became one of the pioneers in mastering laparoscopic and robotic surgery techniques for the treatment of complex gastrointestinal conditions. He currently serves as Head of the FV da Vinci Robotic Surgery Centre at FV Hospital.

Dr Nguyen Nhat Nam, PhD

Dr Nguyen Nhat Nam, PhD holds an international Doctor of Medicine degree specialising in Endocrinology from Taiwan. With extensive experience in the management and treatment of patients at international general hospitals, Dr Nam applies a modern, evidence-based approach to clinical care. He is a member of several prestigious medical associations, including the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association and the European Society of Endocrinology.

Dr Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu, MSc, Specialist Level II

Dr Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu, MSc, Specialist Level II is a senior specialist with more than 25 years of experience in internal medicine and clinical nutrition. She has a strong academic background, holding a Specialist Level II qualification in Internal Medicine, a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science, and a European qualification in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism. With extensive expertise in nutritional therapy and nutritional support for specific medical conditions, particularly obesity and malnutrition in both children and adults, Dr Thu plays a key role in guiding and developing nutritional care at FV Hospital in line with international standards.

Dr Phan Van Thai, MSc, Specialist Level II

Dr Phan Van Thai, MSc, Specialist Level II is one of the leading specialists in gastrointestinal surgery and laparoscopic surgery, with more than 25 years of experience in the treatment and surgical management of complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions. After graduating with a Specialist Level II qualification in General Surgery from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City and completing advanced training in minimally invasive surgery and gastrointestinal cancer surgery in France, Japan and Singapore, Dr Thai has extensive expertise in laparoscopic abdominal surgery, bariatric surgery and advanced surgical interventions.

Dr Nguyen Huu Man, MSc

Dr Nguyen Huu Man, MSc is an experienced specialist in Endocrinology and Diabetes. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Medicine and completing comprehensive training in endocrine and metabolic disorders, Dr Man has developed particular expertise in diagnosing diabetes and tailoring treatment plans to individual patients, managing chronic metabolic disorders, and applying the latest pharmacological therapies, including GLP-1 receptor agonists such as liraglutide and semaglutide, in obesity and cardiometabolic syndrome management.

Dr Nguyen Huu Nhan, MSc

Speaker Information

Dr Nguyen Huu Nhan, MSc graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2011 and a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine in 2018 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. He has also completed advanced training programmes in interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at Cho Ray Hospital and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. With more than 13 years of clinical experience and a background in clinical leadership roles, including Head of Gastroenterology at major international hospitals and clinics, Dr Nhan has extensive expertise in the management of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD/MASLD), chronic liver diseases and advanced interventional endoscopic procedures.
