Assoc Prof Dr Nguyen Thi Hung, PhD

Speaker Information

Assoc Prof Dr Nguyen Thi Hung, PhD has over 40 years of experience in neurology and more than 30 years of leadership and management experience at major domestic and international hospitals. He served as the Director of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital from 2007 to 2014. Assoc Prof Dr Nguyen Thi Hung, PhD was also the first physician to introduce Botulinum toxin injections for movement disorders in Vietnam in 1998, as well as the Parkinson's surgery programme (Deep Brain Stimulation) in 2012.

Dr Than Ha Ngoc The, PhD

Dr Than Ha Ngoc The, PhD is currently the President of the Vietnam Palliative Health Care Society, Former Head of the Department of Geriatrics and Former Deputy Head of the Department of Palliative Care, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City. As a pioneer in developing palliative care in Vietnam, she trained under the PCEP programme at Harvard Medical School (USA). She established the first Geriatrics – Palliative Care Department and the first Palliative Care academic department in Vietnam, while also serving as the Director of the country's first Palliative Care Specialist Level I training programme recognised by the Ministry of Health.

Dr Vo Kim Dien, MSc

Dr Vo Kim Dien, MSc – Deputy Head of Hy Vong Cancer Centre, FV Hospital, has over 35 years of experience in oncology and radiotherapy. Dr Vo Kim Dien, MSc is a highly experienced expert in cancer radiotherapy, specialising in breast cancer, gynaecological cancers, and head and neck cancers.

Dr Le Cong Dinh, MSc is currently the Deputy Head of the Palliative Care Department at Hanoi Oncology Hospital, with 15 years of dedication to oncology and palliative care. Known as a committed doctor and an active scholar, he has conducted multiple local research projects and published international papers in prestigious Sage Journals.

Dr Than Van Quyen, Specialist Level I

Dr Than Van Quyen, Specialist Level I is currently the Head of the Pain Unit at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, 199 Hospital. Following formal training, he completed an intensive fellowship in clinical pain management in Thailand. He is an internationally recognised pain management expert, a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) taskforce, and co-author of a major scientific paper in the prestigious journal The Lancet Neurology (2025).

Dr Nguyen Nam Binh, Specialist Level I

Dr Nguyen Nam Binh, Specialist Level I has been a Senior Consultant at the Pain Clinic, FV Hospital since 2020. With a background in Anaesthesiology and Reanimation and over 13 years at Tu Du Hospital, Dr Binh has extensive expertise in chronic pain, cancer pain, and palliative care. Notably, she holds several advanced training certificates in ultrasound-guided interventional pain management and clinical opioid use optimisation from prestigious domestic and international institutions.

Dr Pham Hoang Manh, Specialist Level I

Dr Pham Hoang Manh, Specialist Level I has been a Senior Consultant at the Pain Clinic, FV Hospital since 2022. He previously worked in the Department of Anaesthesiology at Cho Ray Hospital from 2016, and participated in advanced training programmes in regional anaesthesia and chronic pain management in France and Switzerland. Dr Manh specialises in treating musculoskeletal pain, spinal pain, neuropathic pain, and cancer pain, as well as using imaging and ultrasound guidance to optimise interventional pain management.

Dr Tran Nguyen An, Specialist Level I

Dr Tran Nguyen An, Specialist Level I is currently a Palliative Care and Oncology Specialist at FV Hospital, with 10 years of experience. Dr An spent many years coordinating palliative care at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital and successfully implementing community Homecare services.

Dr Vo Thanh Long

Speaker Information

Dr Vo Thanh Long is currently the CEO at Spring Hospice. He received comprehensive hospice training at the National Cancer Center Korea and in family medicine. He completed fellowship training in palliative care from the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation. Dr Long is a pioneer in establishing community-based palliative care models, co-authored the monograph Palliative Medicine and Hospice Care, and has been a speaker at numerous palliative care conferences.
