Dr. Doan Ngoc Giao, PhD
Overview
Dr Doan Ngoc Giao has nearly 30 years of experience in all aspects of general surgery, he was a pioneer in developing minimally invasive surgical procedures for oesophageal, gastric and colorectal cancers while working at his tenure at Viet Tiep Hospital (Hai Phong). In 2012, he moved to Cho Ray hospital where he expanded his activity by performing Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery, including Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancers, liver resections and more. He also a specialist in bariatric surgery.
Dr Giao graduated from the Hanoi Medical University in 1996, obtained a Master degree in 2002, was awarded a PhD for his research accomplishments, and travelled extensively for advanced training in Japan (where he learnt robotic-assisted surgery), China, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
Dr Giao is also a dedicated teacher, lecturing in several universities across Vietnam, and is an ardent believer in the importance of knowledge and skill transfer.
