FV Hospital Recognised in Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 Rankings

FV Hospital has been recognised in the Best Specialised Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 ranking, jointly compiled by the renowned US news magazine Newsweek and global data research firm Statista. The results were officially released on the evening of 17 June. This marks the first time Vietnam has been included in this ranking, marking the official inclusion of Vietnamese healthcare in an international specialist hospital ranking.

Clinical quality reflected in treatment outcomes

Following an evaluation of 3500 hospitals across 11 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region, FV Hospital has been listed in four specialities: Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Neurology, and Pulmonology. This gives FV one of the strongest representations among Vietnamese hospitals in this year’s ranking. Notably, in southern Vietnam, only FV Hospital and Cho Ray Hospital were included in this year’s list.

FV Hospital has been recognised in the Best Specialised Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 with four specialities: Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Neurology, and Pulmonology.

Unlike conventional rankings that are based on hospital size or brand recognition, the Best Specialised Hospitals Asia Pacific ranking, initiated by Newsweek (US) in collaboration with global data research company Statista (Germany), is developed using scores derived from surveys of thousands of physicians, healthcare professionals, and hospital managers across the Asia-Pacific region, under strict rules that prohibit voting for one’s own institution.

Being included in the ranking reflects not only professional recognition, but also the quality of care and clinical capabilities demonstrated by the hospital. Specifically:

• Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology: FV is a leading specialised cardiac centre in southern Vietnam, with strong capability in managing severe and acute cases, including acute myocardial infarction referred from provincial hospitals and neighbouring countries. The department is a pioneer in applying advanced techniques and technologies such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) for calcified coronary arteries, the AI-based 3Mensio software for cardiac intervention planning, and next-generation leadless pacemaker implantation.

• Neurology: The Neurology team has many years of clinical experience and works in close multidisciplinary collaboration in the management of sleep disorders, vestibular disorders, and epilepsy. A key strength is the integrated stroke care model, involving Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, and Physiotherapy to ensure rapid treatment and rehabilitation after stroke. The department also works closely with Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery, using neuronavigation systems in complex brain and spine procedures to improve precision and maximise preservation of neurological function.
• Gastroenterology and Hepatology: The department brings together specialists with over 20 years of experience and collaborates with major gastroenterology centres in Japan and India. It is highly capable in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, using the Olympus X1 system integrated with AI and capsule endoscopy to support early detection and effective treatment of diseases of the digestive system, liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. In the management of liver and gastrointestinal cancers, the team works closely with Interventional Radiology and General Surgery to provide modern treatment options, including transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE) for liver cancer and robot-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Xi system.

• Pulmonology: The department has strong expertise in managing complex respiratory conditions such as COPD, severe asthma, and lung cancer. In addition to treatment, it also runs smoking cessation programmes and low-dose CT lung cancer screening. Notably, FV is among the few hospitals in Vietnam to perform endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), allowing highly accurate biopsy and lung cancer staging without the need for surgical biopsy. FV also provides comprehensive lung cancer care, including robotic surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy.

Alongside clinical care, FV Hospital also serves as an active platform for professional and scientific exchange within the medical community through many conferences and scientific seminars, featuring leading experts from France, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and other countries. 2026 ranking scope: The 2026 evaluation covered 3500 hospitals across 11 countries and territories, including Australia, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The ranking aims to recognise leading institutions in key clinical specialities.
