After six months of construction, FV’s Internal Medicine Ward, located on the fourth floor of the Hospital, has been completely refreshed. Rooms have a luxurious, modern feel in harmony with the rest of the ward; some have been upgraded to coronary care units (CCU) and the number of VIP rooms has been increased. In total, the Department of InternalMedicine now has 32 patient rooms, including deluxe rooms, VIP rooms and CCU and HDU rooms.
At 1 pm on 25 September 2018, FV Hospital celebrated World Pharmacists Day with a ceremony at the Pharmacy Department, first floor, F Building. In August, FV Hospital’s General Surgery Department successfully treated Ms V.T. Song Phien, 48 , from Tay Ninh, for stage four cervical cancer which had invaded many complex pelvic organs. Previously, Ms Song Phien had been treated in many hospitals but her disease kept worsening. When she came to FV she was desperately worried – her recurring tumour had invaded her pelvic area and surrounding organs: her bladder, vagina, rectum, uterus, colon and small intestine. In addition, she had an infected uterus abscess.
On August 15, 2018, Dr Yann Dréan officially joined FV’s team as Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Before moving to Vietnam, Dr Dréan worked at hospitals in France, including Amiens-Picardie and Hospital Center of the Basque Coast. He has spent many years as a senior consultant in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with specialist experience in handling high-risk pregnancies.
