FV’s Shining Star of June 2025, Ms Nguyen Thi Huong from the Medical East Ward. A gentle and soft-spoken individual, Ms Huong has been a dedicated nurse at FV Hospital for over six years. Though reserved, she possesses a deep capacity for listening and sharing, consistently offering patients a sense of reassurance and empathy.
Since joining FV in 2019, she has primarily worked in the Medical Ward, including more than four years caring for oncology patients. She recalls that during her early days at FV, feelings of anxiety and unfamiliarity were inevitable – especially when supporting patients battling complex medical conditions. With the encouragement and guidance of her colleagues, she gradually overcame those initial challenges, grew in confidence, and deepened her commitment to the work.
Ms Huong shares: “Caring for cancer patients can be emotionally demanding, but if I had to choose again, I would still choose this path. At FV, I have the time not only to care for patients’ physical health but also to listen to their stories and wishes.” It is this aspect that makes her feel her work has more meaning with each passing year.
Given the intense pressure of her role, particularly when supporting patients through their final stages of treatment—Ms Huong has learned the importance of finding balance. Whenever she witnesses a patient’s passing, she often takes a day off to “refresh” her spirits. “It helps me stay calm and return to work with better energy,” she explains.
Over her six years at FV, Ms Huong has gradually gathered countless heart-warming moments from the hospital’s friendly environment, which have strengthened her resolve to remain with the institution long-term. “My colleagues, and supervisors like Ms Van and Ms Nha, are always there to encourage and support me. Even cancer patients sometimes encourage me in return, which makes working at FV all the more special,” she reflects.
She believes that patient care goes beyond technical duties – it is a journey of giving love, guided by the belief that kindness will be returned in kind. When she gives her best to care for a patient, she trusts that one day, someone will do the same for her own family. Just as in nature, giving love is also a way to receive it.
Once again, congratulations to Ms Nguyen Thi Huong, FV’s Shining Star of June 2025. We wish you continued joy in your work and many more meaningful stories on your journey of caring for patients at FV.
