The June 2026 Shining Star award goes to Mr Nguyen Hoang Sang, a nurse in the Medical West Ward. This recognition celebrates a dedicated nurse whose warm smile has brightened every working day throughout his eight years at FV Hospital.
Before joining FV, Mr Sang worked for three years at Van Hanh General Hospital. The more time he spent caring for inpatients, the more passionate he became about nursing, inspiring him to make FV Hospital his long-term professional home. Since then, he has remained a vital, enthusiastic member of the Medical West Ward team.
For Mr Sang, daily nursing care goes far beyond administering injections and following medical orders. During brief breaks, he takes time to chat with his patients, believing these conversations are “medicine for the mind”, helping to ease anxiety and support recovery.
“It is completely understandable for patients to feel irritable when they are unwell. I try my best to listen and show empathy. When they recover and smile in thanks, all the fatigue from a long shift simply melts away,” Mr Sang shared with a smile.
Throughout his eight years at FV, Mr Sang has maintained a consistently positive attitude, drawing motivation from a supportive, friendly team environment. On shift, he stays organised by prioritising patient care first and completing paperwork afterwards, helping the ward run smoothly and ensuring patients receive timely care.
Mr Sang’s most memorable moment dates back to the COVID-19 pandemic. When his neighbourhood in Binh Chanh ward was placed under lockdown, he was safe at home, yet he worried deeply for his colleagues struggling on the frontlines. Eager to help, he proactively asked his Head Nurse for permission to return to the hospital. He volunteered to work demanding 12 to 16-hour shifts while wearing full personal protective equipment for extended periods. Even after contracting COVID-19 and spending two weeks in hospital for treatment and isolation, he was ready to return to duty as soon as he tested negative.
Outside his clinical duties, Mr Sang also enjoys taking part in hospital activities. He confidently walked the runway during the Ao Dai performance at FV’s 2025 Year-End Party, and enthusiastically joins in with internal hospital competitions.
When asked about his secret to winning the Shining Star award, Mr Sang modestly reflected: “I don’t think there’s any secret to it. I just try to do my job to the best of my ability, enjoy every day at work, and gladly support others whenever I can.”
The FV family warmly congratulates Mr Nguyen Hoang Sang on his June 2026 Shining Star award! We wish him continued success, fulfilment, and the same positive spirit that inspires both his colleagues and patients every day.
