October 28, 2026

FV Hospital, a member of Thomson Medical Group (Singapore), and Fosun Health (China) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership, combining their healthcare expertise in oncology, from pre-treatment diagnosis and access to specialised cancer treatments in China to post-treatment care and follow-up in Vietnam.

In addition to coordinating patient care, the two organisations will undertake professional activities to exchange knowledge, share clinical experience, keep abreast of advances in cancer treatment and provide specialised training programmes for healthcare professionals.

Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon, CEO of FV Hospital, said: “Cancer care requires a multidisciplinary approach and collaboration between healthcare institutions with complementary strengths. Fosun Health has an established presence in China, while FV has a patient care network in Vietnam. We believe this partnership will enable both parties to leverage their respective strengths in cancer treatment and deliver tangible benefits to patients.”

At the signing ceremony, Mr Shen Yun, Co-President, Chief Strategy Officer of Fosun Health, General Manager of International Cooperation Department, said: “We chose FV Hospital as our partner because it is an internationally accredited hospital in Vietnam, with the capacity to provide initial diagnostic services and post-treatment follow-up for Vietnamese patients locally. We can work together, and the patients will be the greatest beneficiaries of this partnership,” he emphasised.

Connecting Cancer Treatment Capabilities for Patients in Vietnam

Fosun Health is one of China’s leading private healthcare groups, with a network of 19 hospitals and healthcare facilities, more than 6,500 beds and over 2,300 doctors. Its flagship hospital, Foshan Fosun ChanCheng Hospital, has ranked first in the Top 100 Private Single Hospitals in China for eight consecutive years. In oncology, the group has developed treatment approaches incorporating advanced technologies such as da Vinci robotic surgery, CAR-T cell therapy, CyberKnife radiosurgery, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), radioactive seed implantation and tumour cryoablation.

At FV, the Hy Vong Cancer Care Centre provides comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment services, combining surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Each case is reviewed by a multidisciplinary tumour board to develop an individualised treatment plan based on medical evidence and international guidelines. FV also places emphasis on managing side effects, pain relief, nutritional support and psychological care, supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

Under the agreement, Fosun Health will support patients by connecting them with FV for the necessary diagnostic investigations before they travel to China for treatment. These include diagnostic imaging (CT and MRI scans), laboratory tests and biopsies.

After completing treatment in China and returning to Vietnam, patients will be referred by Fosun Health to FV for continued care and follow-up.

In addition to coordinating patient care, the two parties will strengthen medical training, academic exchange, clinical knowledge-sharing and updates on advances in cancer treatment for healthcare professionals through scientific seminars, health discussions and specialist conferences.

Ms Nguyen Thi Le Thu, Marketing and Business Development Director at FV Hospital, said: “FV is honoured to partner with Fosun Health. Each hospital has its own areas of expertise and strengths. Through this collaboration, both parties can exchange treatment techniques, particularly new technologies. This will give patients more options, whether to continue their treatment at FV or seek care at one of the hospitals within the Fosun Health network.”

Emphasising the importance of cross-border continuity of care, Ms Tan Diep Ai, Country Director, Fosun Health Vietnam, Representative Office, said: “This partnership will establish a seamless treatment pathway, with FV responsible for diagnosing and examining patients in Vietnam. Hospitals within the Fosun Health network will provide specialised treatment procedures. Upon returning to Vietnam, patients will continue to receive follow-up care and monitoring at FV.”

“A Standard of Medical Excellence”: The Foundation for Advanced Oncology Collaboration

The partnership with Fosun Health in oncology marks another step in FV’s strategy to expand its international relationships and enhance the quality of treatment. FV was the first hospital in the region to receive HAS accreditation from the French National Health Authority in 2007. It is also one of the few hospitals in southern Vietnam to have achieved Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation four consecutive times, from 2016 to the present.

FV Hospital has maintained JCI accreditation since 2016 and was recognised in the Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 ranking.

In 2026, FV was recognised in the Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 ranking, compiled by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista.

In oncology, the Hy Vong Cancer Care Centre employs advanced techniques such as total body irradiation (TBI), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and brachytherapy. FV has also introduced the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system and a Philips 3.0 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, and has signed a contract to invest in the CyberKnife S7 robotic radiosurgery system.

“Cancer care has been one of the specialties FV has prioritised since the early days of its operations. In 2018, we established a comprehensive partnership with HCG, an oncology network with 28 centres across India, to develop the Hy Vong Cancer Care Centre. Today, our partnership with Fosun Health further demonstrates FV’s commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes and value for patients,” said Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon.
